Teaching Experience/ Lectures

2016- 2018  Upper School Art Teacher, BASIS Charter School, DC. 

2016 Workshop Facilitator, Art Trolley, Term 3, RUA RED South Dublin Arts Centre, Ireland: I am developing a series of 6 workshops (Saturdays April 30-June 4) for children ages 5-10. Themes and ideas in the workshop series should draw from exhibitions in the gallery space either in content or media. Workshops begin with a walking tour of the gallery spaces.

2015 Professional Studies Conference, The Burren College of Art, Ireland: I presented a lecture to undergraduate students in the Seminar Room on the benefits of community arts foundations for professional development/ networking. Followed by Q & A.

2013-15 Teaching Assistant, Burren College of Art, Ireland: I directed undergraduate critiques in the studios, mentored by Dr. Aine Phillips. As a class, we would visit each of the students’ studio spaces individually.

2014 Artist Talk, The Burren College of Art, Ireland: I gave a speech about my practice to undergraduate students in the Lecture Hall, followed by Q & A

2006 Art Camp Teacher [children age 10-13], Lavilla School of the Arts, Jacksonville, Florida: I assisted in planning and teaching art classes for the school’s summer camp program.

 

Related Employment/ Internships

2016 Exhibition Coordinator, Dublin, Ireland. I assisted Independent Curator Niamh McDonnell with putting together an exhibition at the Irish Architectural Archive in Dublin. Duties included arranging catering, finding quotes and composing exhibition budget, acting as a point of contact for all members involved in structural aspects of exhibition (builders for temporary walls, printers for wall text, etc.).

2015-2016 Gallery Assistant and Education Coordinator, Pallas Projects/Studios, Dublin, Ireland: I am making connections with all schools and colleges in Dublin 8 for this gallery and studio space. I organize and initiate school visits and artist talks. I am also responsible for general assistance to the Directors, including conducting research for grant proposals. I help to set up and take down work for each exhibition. I help to drive their social media campaign/ send out newsletters.

2014-2015 Marketing Assistant and Exhibition Coordinator, The Burren College of Art, Ireland: I managed the exhibition budget, found sponsorship from local venues/ suppliers, designed and distributed all promotional material (including posters, invites, catalogs, gallery maps etc. using InDesign), organized guest speakers and writers for the exhibition, helped to drive the social media campaign, etc.
